This program presents students with an exciting program of study that emphasizes the creativity of arts studio practice in shaping and influencing information technology. The program extends the activities of the Integrated Electronic Arts program at Rensselaer (iEAR), an extensive, state-of-the-art facility dedicated to interdisciplinary research / artistic development in interactivity, digital video, computer imaging, digital audio, animation, virtual reality, web design, multi-media installation and performance. Students will take a series of courses designed to give them hands-on experience with a full range of arts practice within our unique technological environment. Intermediate and advanced courses offer the student the opportunity to focus on an area of research specialization, and to develop innovative collaborative projects. Study in the Arts concentration will provide students with both theoretical foundation, and practical experience needed for careers in the many fast-growing fields related to digital arts and multi-media.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

A TOEFL score of at least 230 CBT, 88 iBT, or 570 PBT is required. For students not able to take the TOEFL, the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) may be substituted for the TOEFL. An IELTS score of at least 7.0 is expected. Only the academic format is accepted.SAT (critical reading, math, and writing) or ACT (which must include the optional writing component) is required. SAT Subject Tests in a math and a science is required for accelerated program applicants only (or ACT, which must include the optional writing component, in lieu of SAT and SAT Subject Tests). The applicants who are best suited for Rensselaer will have completed four years of English, four years of mathematics through pre-calculus, three years of science, three years of social studies and/or history.
