The School of Visual Communication Design has access to the 2,535-square-foot Visual Communication Design Resource Center, with a computer lab and a full-service output facility including an 11”x17” color laser printer/copier, a 36” color plotter, color scanners, black-and-white laser printer and photocopier. A computer lab with 12 stations, featuring current Macintosh computers and Adobe Creative Suite software. The Center also includes a design library with subscriptions to graphic, industrial, interior, and architectural design periodicals, and there are several thousand design books in the library system. The Art Building has eighteen Cisco wireless access points strategically placed around the building. This allows seamless wireless roaming of the building, that is, the ability to start at one end of the building and travel to another with a wifi enabled device like laptop or iPhone and not lose connectivity.

The Department of Residence Services offers on campus housing for students. The convenience of living on campus provides students easy access to numerous campus resources such as faculty and academic advisors, the library, computer labs, residence hall cafeterias and other campus eateries, the health center, recreational facilities, and student organizations. The RISC Office maintains six computer clusters at Kent State University. The computer labs are located in Tri-Towers, Twin Towers, McSweeney, Korb, Verder, and Allerton. The labs in Korb and Allerton are available only to the residents of that hall. All labs are open 24-hours and are monitored by cameras. University Food Services provides students dining options in five cafeterias located in Stewart Hall, Tri-Towers Rotunda, Prentice Hall, Eastway Center and the Kent Student Center. The department provides every student living in the residence halls and Allerton Student Family Apartments the opportunity to use the residential network. ResNet provides in-room access to the internet and Kent State's computing resources. It provides opportunity to use the ResTV Cable Television System; transportation to students, including campus bus routes, and services for students with disabilities- Student Disability Transportation Services (SDTS); and the residence hall rooms contain uniquely sized, extra-long mattresses (36”x80”). A Huskie Loft is an elevated twin bed designed to make the college room more usable by expanding its floor space. Microfridge features a microwave oven and compact refrigerator/freezer combination that offers convenience and cost effectiveness.
