Uraian Tempat

The University of Alabama awarded its first degree in mechanical engineering in 1911, making the Department of Mechanical Engineering one of the oldest accredited programs in the United States. The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers students an outstanding faculty, an ABET accredited program, continuously updated computer laboratories, and some of the best facilities in the nation. Numerous research projects offer students an opportunity to work with the faculty in solving current engineering challenges and in developing technological resources for the future. The engineering graphics program is part of the mechanical engineering department. Engineers use technical drawing to communicate and document their ideas. Students in all the engineering disciplines who want to communicate in the graphical language are encouraged to study engineering graphics. Engineering graphics facilities are on the second floor of Hardaway Hall and include modern facilities for computer-aided drafting and design (CAD) lab.

Residents of campus housing have access to many resources, including various services and facilities located in and near the residence halls. These include access to: Resnet, Computer Labs, Telecom and Bama Dining locations. Residence Hall Association Bryce Lawn is an upperclassmen apartment community located on Bryce Lawn Drive between Campus and University. Each apartment features three single bedrooms. Each bedroom is furnished with a twin bed, desk, and dresser. The three residents share one full bathroom and a half bath that contains a sink and shower. The living room is furnished with a sofa and chair. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, electric stove, dishwasher, washer, dryer, and kitchen table with chairs. The Highlands feature furnished apartments with four students sharing a living/dining room area, kitchen, 3 bathrooms (with 1 shower, 1 bathtub/shower, 2 toilets and 3 sinks) and three bedrooms. The large bedroom is a double bedroom and the two smaller bedrooms are singles. The layout of handicapped-accessible apartments varies in the lakeside residence halls Each private room is furnished with a 3 drawer chest, a split pedestal desk, an upholstered two- position desk chair, and a junior loft bed.
