Ringkasan program
This program is designed for undergraduate students at the University of South Carolina who are interested in a career as a teacher in grades 5 through 8. Besides the major, students must choose two different content areas of specialization, each including 18-21 hours of studies. Specialized content areas are: English, social studies, mathematics, and science. Students specializing in English and social studies will pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree and must successfully complete 27 hours in Liberal Arts and 14 hours in science and mathematics. Students specializing in mathematics and science will pursue a Bachelor of Science degree and must successfully complete 24 hours in Liberal Arts and 19 hours in science and mathematics. Students specializing in English/mathematics, English/science, social studies/mathematics, or social studies/science may elect to pursue either a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science and must successfully complete the General Education requirements for either the B.A. or the B.S.

Mathematics Specialization (18-20 hours): MATH 172 or MATH 142, MATH 602 or MATH 531, STAT 201, MATH 401 or MATH 241, Two Additional Courses: Select two courses from the following OR three courses if STAT 201 was used for meeting the General Education requirement: MATH 141 - Calculus I (if not used for General Education requirement), MATH 142 - Calculus II (if not used above), MATH 241 - Vector Calculus (if not used above), MATH 170 or MATH 174, MATH 511- Probability and MATH 544 - Linear Algebra.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Applicants must be high school graduates or have equivalent qualification. International students whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency by obtaining minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based), 210 (computer-based) or 77 (internet-based). Applicants may also take the International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) in lieu of the TOEFL. A minimum score of 6.5 is required for the IELTS.
