Ringkasan program
The K-12 Instrumental Music Education program prepares candidates for teaching in Grades 1-5 and leads to an initial Louisiana teaching certificate as well as a Bachelor of Science degree. The UNO teacher education program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the K-12 Instrumental Music Education is nationally recognized by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). The undergraduate program is 137 credit hours and focuses on the knowledge, skills, and dispositions associated with effective education in K-12 Music Education with a focus on instrumental music.

Students seeking admission must have completed the high school from an accredited institution. All applicants who are from countries other than the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada (except Quebec), New Zealand, Ireland, Belize and certain Caribbean Islands, must submit scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). For undergraduate applicants, the minimum required scores are 525 on the paper based test or 195 on the computer based test or 71 on the internet based test.
