This program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) through 2011, and approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. The BSN curriculum is a 4 year program of study that prepares the graduate for generalist practice in nursing and allows the graduate to sit for the national licensing exam (NCLEX) to practice as a registered nurse (RN). The program provides the student a background in: liberal arts, through the general education requirements of the University; sciences, through the required nursing pre-requisite courses; generalist nursing education. BSN graduates are prepared to function in a variety of care settings to include hospitals, clinics, public health, home health, hospice and long term care facilities, and may assume leadership and management roles as well because of their education. Upon completion of the majority of the nursing pre-requisite courses, students apply to the upper division of the nursing program. Admission is competitive, and not all students are accepted into the upper level division nursing program.

The modules are: NURN 3103 Concepts of Professional Nursing Science, NURN 3108 Health Assessment for Nurses, NURN 4100 Aging and Health, NURN 4201 Information Technology: Application in Health Care, NURN 4203 Leadership in Nursing Practice, NURN 4440 Community Health Nursing, NURN 4450 Design and Coordination of Care for Nurses, NURN 4900 Research in Nursing Practice, STAT 1220 Elements of Statistics (BUSN), STAT 1221 Elements of Statistics (BIOL) or STAT 1222 Introduction to Statistics.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students should have graduated from an approved or accredited high school or have earned a high school equivalency certificate or G.E.D. The high school course units should include the following: 4 units in English, emphasizing grammar, composition and literature; 4 units in mathematics, including Algebra I, Algebra II and geometry, and a higher level mathematics course for which Algebra II is a prerequisite; 2 units in social studies, including one unit in U.S. history; and 3 units in science, including at least one unit in a life or biological science (e.g., biology), at least one unit in a physical science (e.g., chemistry, physics, physical science), and at least one laboratory course; and 2 units of the same foreign language. A minimum score of 180 on the new computer based TOEFL or a minimum score of 75% on the MELAB is required for admission.
