In this program, organizational settings, including for-profit businesses, political organizations, not-for-profit organizations, and public and private boards, are dynamic entities, which rely on skilled leaders to function efficiently and to ensure positive workplace cultures and climates. This interdisciplinary program in Organizational Sciences through the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences draws from business, industrial/organizational psychology, public administration, industrial sociology, educational leadership and other disciplines to provide students with an understanding of interpersonal workplace dynamics and fundamentals of leadership. Bachelor’s degree in organizational sciences with three focus areas workplace relations, nonprofit and community organization and organizational communication. It will help students become a better organizational communicator and leader. It has become increasingly evident that many problems in the workplace are the result of relationship failures. These failures range from conflict between managers and employees and conflict between employees and other employees, to lack of proper coordination of efforts, lack of proper understanding of worker capabilities and training needs, and lack of concern for both employee and manager professional development.

Students who have no previous work at the post-secondary level must have at least a 2.5 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) from a secondary school. Students must also meet the criteria for admission to university level study in their home country. Students must have any one of the following as proof of English competency - TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum score of 525 on the paper test or 70 on the internet based test; completion of the University of Idaho American Language and Culture Program (ALCP); SAT critical reading with a minimum score of 500; IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with a minimum score of 6.0; Cambridge CAE (Certificate in Advanced English) with a pass; Cambridge CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English) with a pass; Cambridge International 'O' Levels with a pass; MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery) with a score of 74. English proficiency demonstration is waived for any applicant who has a previous degree at an accredited U.S. institution or who have taken English classes at U.S. institutions and passed those classes or students from countries where English is the native language and/or the official language for academic instruction.
