This is an applied science program that focuses on the production and maintenance of grassed areas, including home lawns, parks, golf courses and other athletic surfaces. This concentration integrates scientific theory with practical experience, and covers such topics as grass and seed identification, turfgrass culture and physiology, pest control, and equipment maintenance. Students in this concentration will have the option of selecting a business management focus. Many graduates find employment in the golf course industry, while others choose to specialize in sports turf management. The lawn care industry also employs many of the graduates in jobs as varied as research, sales, and direct lawn maintenance. Excellent career opportunities exist in turf management, and job placement of the graduates is nearly 100 per cent.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students should have certain minimum high school unit requirements such as four years of English, three years of college preparatory mathematics (algebra II is a minimum requirement), two years of the same foreign language, three years of science (including two with a laboratory component), two years of social science including one course in U.S. history, and two electives from the above areas, arts and humanities, or computer science. In addition to this, international students should have obtained a TOEFL score of 213 or higher on computer-based, 80 or higher on internet-based; or an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher. Non-native speakers with a SAT-I verbal score of 400 or higher do not need to take the TOEFL or IELTS.
