This program in bachelor of fine arts is awarded to students who complete 134 credits of study including a minimum of 90 credits in jazz courses (studio courses, internships, or approved independent studies may be applied toward the 90-credit minimum), requirements in theory, ear training, theory and perform­ance, piano, rhythmic analysis, sight-reading, arranging, and instrumental proficiency, 18-27 credits of liberal arts through The New School’s Undergraduate Liberal Studies curriculum, 16-17 credits of music history courses, passing of the sophomore jury and performance of a senior recital.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Applicants applying for admission should undergo a prescreen audition recording (for drums, guitar, and voice applicants only) and a live or recorded audition. International students should also submit an official TOEFL score if English is not their primary language. The test score should be sent directly from ETS. A minimum score of 79 on the internet-based test, 550 on the written test, or 213 on the computer-based test is required for admission. If they reside in Great Britain and English is not your primary language, we will accept the IELTS in place of a TOEFL score.
