Ringkasan program
This program prepares students to become either a self-employed artist or to pursue a master of fine arts degree. Self-employed artists show and sell work in galleries, museums and a variety of other venues. The MFA degree would open up teaching opportunities at the college and university level. In this program students will study not only drawing and painting, but also art appreciation, art history, design, printmaking and other studio arts. They will have access to well-equipped studios and instruction in a wide range of techniques.

The modules include ASTU 2210 Painting I 3, ASTU 2215 Painting II 3, ASTU 3200 Intermediate Figure Drawing 3, ASTU 3210 Intermediate Painting 3, ASTU 4210 Advanced Painting Studio 3, ASTU 4215 Drawing Studio 3; AEAH 4812 Modernism and the Visual Arts 1890-1945 3 and AEAH 4813 Postmodernism and the Visual Arts 1945-Present 3; 3 hours from ASTU 2050 Beginning Ceramics 3, ASTU 2130 Fibers: Weaving I 3, ASTU 2150 Metalsmithing and Jewelry I 3 or ASTU 2350 Sculpture I 3; 3 hours from ASTU 3210 Intermediate Painting , ASTU 3220 Figure Painting I or ASTU 3230 Hybrid Forms; 3 hours from ASTU 3305 Artist’s Bookmaking , ASTU 3310 Printmaking: Etching, ASTU 3315 Printmaking: Monotype Printmaking, ASTU 3320 Printmaking: Screen Printing, ASTU 3330 Printmaking: Lithography or ASTU 3340 Printmaking: Relief Printmaking; 6 hours from ASTU 4210 Advanced Painting Studio, ASTU 4215 Drawing Studio, ASTU 4220 Figure Painting Studio or ASTU 4230 Advanced Hybrid Forms; and 15 hours (9 advanced) of art electives.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Students must have graduated from an accredited high school and strongly recommend that students take the following classes in high school. Students should have a strong ‘B’ average and have completed three units of English and two units each of solid mathematics, social science and natural science. Students should have a minimum combined SAT (combined critical reading/verbal and math) score of 1180 or ACT composite of 26. International students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 79 (Internet-based), score of 550 (Paper-based) and score of 213 (Computer-based) and a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall band and also should have minimum MELAB (official version) score of 80 or higher.
