Ringkasan program
In this program students will get a great deal of hands-on experience in their classes. There are opportunities for showing their work on campus or at local galleries. In addition, the university is within easy commuting distance of Dallas and Fort Worth, where major art museums and galleries provide valuable resources and experiences for UNT students. Sculptors often are self-employed artists, showing and selling their works in museums and galleries and doing commissions for both public and private entities. The major in sculpture prepares students for such a career as well as preparing them for an advanced degree, should they consider teaching at the college or university level. As a sculpture major, they will take courses in art appreciation, art history, design and drawing, as well as courses in the sculpture area. They will have access to large, well-equipped studios and instruction in a wide range of materials and techniques. Sculpture students spend a lot of time in studio art classes creating original works, studying all aspects of three-dimensional art and examining different media in which to work.
Modul program
The modules include ASTU 2350 Sculpture I 3, ASTU 3200 Intermediate Figure Drawing 3, ASTU 3350 Sculpture II 3; AEAH 4814 Theories of Contemporary Art 3; 6 hours from ceramics, metalsmithing/jewelry or fibers; 12 hours of ASTU 4350 Sculpture Studio; 6 advanced hours of art history; 18 hours (15 advanced) of art electives.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Students must have graduated from an accredited high school and strongly recommend that students take the following classes in high school. Students should have a strong ‘B’ average and have completed three units of English and two units each of solid mathematics, social science and natural science. Students should have a minimum combined SAT (combined critical reading/verbal and math) score of 1180 or ACT composite of 26. International students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 79 (Internet-based), score of 550 (Paper-based) and score of 213 (Computer-based) and a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall band and also should have minimum MELAB (official version) score of 80 or higher.
