Ringkasan program
This program consists of 123 semester credit hours. Students wishing to pursue the visual arts studies major must enroll in AEAH 3753. Admission to this course is based on the successful completion of ART 1440, 1450, 1500, and 1510 and at least two of the of the required studio courses beyond the CVAD Core. As a visual arts studies major, students will study ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture, as well as art appreciation, aesthetics, art history, criticism, and technology. Studying these areas will help them to offer a comprehensive art education program to students.

The modules include ART 1200 Art Appreciation 3, ART 1440 Design I 3, ART 1450 Design II 3, ART 1500 Drawing I 3, ART 1510 Drawing II 3, ART 2350 Art History Survey I 3 and ART 2360 Art History Survey II 3; ASTU 2200 Beginning Figure Drawing 3, ASTU 2210 Painting I 3 or ASTU 2417 Beginning Watercolor Painting 3, ASTU 2300 Introduction to Printmaking Techniques 3, ASTU 2350 Sculpture I 3; 3 hours from ASTU 2050 Beginning Ceramics 3, ASTU 2130 Fibers: Weaving I 3, ASTU 2150 Metalsmithing and Jewelry I 3; AEAH 3753 Visual Arts Studies: Foundations of Visual Arts Studies 3, AEAH 3770 Visual Arts Studies: Computer Art Applications 3, AEAH 4760 Visual Arts Studies: A Global Examination of Aesthetics 3, AEAH 4770 Visual Art Studies: Technology in the Visual Arts 3 or AEAH 4790 Visual Arts Studies: Inquiry and Dialogue About Art 3; 9 advanced hours of art history; 3 advanced hours of art electives; and 3 hours of art electives. In addition to the above courses, AEAH 4750 Visual Art Studies: Constructing Visual Arts Practices 3 and AEAH 4780 Visual Art Studies: Reflective Visual Arts Practices 3 must be taken as part of the professional development sequence.

Students must have graduated from an accredited high school and strongly recommend that students take the following classes in high school. Students should have a strong ‘B’ average and have completed three units of English and two units each of solid mathematics, social science and natural science. Students should have a minimum combined SAT (combined critical reading/verbal and math) score of 1180 or ACT composite of 26. International students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 79 (Internet-based), score of 550 (Paper-based) and score of 213 (Computer-based) and a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall band and also should have minimum MELAB (official version) score of 80 or higher.
