Ringkasan program
This program prepares a professional nurse who is a competent, beginning practitioner and has a foundation for graduate study. It prepares professional nurses who have the abilities to apply professional standards in a variety of settings serving diverse populations; to demonstrate knowledge of health promotion, advocacy, and health policy; and to participate as members of the nursing profession. Graduates of the nursing program are prepared to function in a variety of health care settings such as hospitals, long term care facilities and nursing homes, schools and day care centers, visiting nurse associations, clients’ homes, community and mental health agencies, and work environments. Graduates are eligible to sit for the Board of Registration in Nursing’s NCLEX examination for licensure as a registered nurse.

Students should have completed the following coursework at the college preparatory level or higher during high school such as four years of English, two years of social studies (including one year of U.S. history), three years of mathematics, two years of foreign language (in a single language), three years of science (two with a lab), and two years of electives. In addition to this, students must have considerable facility with English, and prospective students whose native language is not English are required to take college writing 1 and 2 with a grade of C or better at a regionally accredited college or university, or to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). They should have a minimum TOEFL score of 550 on the paper version of the test, 213 on the computer-based version and 79-80 on the internet-based version.
