In this program, students must complete at least 9 units of undergraduate research. Over at least two, preferably three terms. Research may be for either pay or credit. To get credit towards completion of research option for research for pay, students must be registered for the appropriate audit-only, research for pay class (EAS 2698 or 4698). Take the class LCC 4700: Writing an Undergraduate Thesis. Taken prior to or during the thesis-writing semester. Write an undergraduate thesis/report of research on their findings.

Students should have score of the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT I). The scores must be sent directly from the testing agency to Georgia Tech. Regardless of the system in which student have been educated, they must earn a minimum score of 440 on the verbal portion of the SAT I to be considered for admission. Based on figures from previous years, they combined math and verbal SAT I score should be better than 1300 to be competitive for admission. Students should have official English translation and a document-by-document evaluation of the high school coursework. The document-by-document evaluation must be prepared by an accredited foreign credential evaluation service that names and describes all diplomas, certificates, degrees, periods of education or training and gives U.S. equivalences for each. This evaluation must also include a GPA.
