Ringkasan program
The PhD concentration in Health Promotion and Health Behavior is an advanced, research-oriented degree that focuses on the application of social and behavioral sciences in the field of public health. Doctoral students in this concentration acquire the knowledge and skills to advance the understanding of the role of behavioral and social influences in public health problems. They learn to apply the principles and practices of health promotion and health behavior to create innovative solutions for current and emerging public health challenges. Students in this concentration take at least four of the following six courses: advanced evaluation And research; advanced theories of health behavior; advanced Qualitative methods in health behavior; advanced quantitative measurement in health behavior; development and implementation of health behavior interventions; and advanced topics in health promotion and health behavior. The PhD program consists of a minimum of 109 credit hours, including at least 36 graduate credits devoted to preparation of the thesis. Doctoral students take courses in research and quantitative methods, theory, ethics, and their area of emphasis.

Evaluation of Health Promotion and Education Programs (3), H 576. Program Planning/Proposal Writing in Health/Human Services (4), General Electives (3 credits): H 520. Health Disparities (3), H 522. Health, Aging and Control of Chronic Disease (4), H 530. Health Policy Analysis (3) , H 565. Public Health and Women: Social and Policy Issues (3), Area of Emphasis (15 credits): All students are required to select an area of emphasis and take additional course work in that area. In addition to those listed under "General Electives" above, suggested courses are listed below. If a student wishes to complete a thesis or project, 6 of the 15 area of emphasis credits can be thesis or project credits. Applicants must have a degree equivalent to a four-year U.S. bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. A "B" average (3.00 GPA on a 4.00 scale) on the last two years of undergraduate work is required and any work completed thereafter. If the student has completed his or her baccalaureate degree in a country that is a signatory of the Bologna Declaration, then a baccalaureate degree of at least three years duration with a B average (equivalent 3.00 on a U.S. 4.00 grading scale) in the last two years, plus all subsequent graded course work is required or a baccalaureate degree of at least three years duration with a two-year (equivalent to 45-quarter credits) graduate degree. International applicants must have TOEFL scores as follows: Paper score of 550 (600); Internet (iBT) score of 80 (100) Minimum score of 18 on each section and IELTS score of 6.5.
