Horticulture is the science and art of producing nutritious food for the body fruit, nut, and vegetable crops and beautiful food for the soul flowers, ornamental plants, and lawns. Training in horticulture will prepare students for success in a variety of fields from sales to research. A degree in horticulture will usually allow them to choose from many job opportunities in areas such as floriculture, nursery crops management, landscape horticulture, and fruit, vegetable, and nut crop management. They might choose to teach horticulture, pursue a career with firms that service the horticulture industry, or operate their own business. Students at the Department of Horticulture have ready access to modern laboratories and teaching equipment, teaching and research greenhouses, a 100-acre teaching and research farm, and the State Botanical Garden. They take frequent trips to nurseries and landscape projects in Atlanta and surrounding areas and to nationally famous gardens.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students should be a high school graduate. They should have an official SAT-I verbal score of 430 or higher; an official TOEFL score of at least 80 on the Internet-based exam or 213 on the computer-based version. TOEFL scores must be less than two years old if you have not been studying at a U.S. institution since taking the exam; an official IELTS score of 7.0 or higher and should take equivalent of English 1101 and 1102 (first-year composition) at an accredited U.S. institution and earn a minimum 2.5 combined GPA for the two courses.
