To enable select, highly motivated students who are seeking a BSN to matriculate directly into the PhD program and avoid duplication of content and hours. After completing the baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing, students can apply to the doctoral program. The post-baccalaureate entry option is for exceptionally well-qualified BSN graduates whose career goals are research oriented and who wish to progress as rapidly as possible toward the doctorate degree in nursing. The earliest students may apply is during the final semester of their BSN program. For students desiring preparation in an academic teaching role or an executive administrator role, the BSN entry to PhD student may want to consider completing selected MSN courses from the educator or administrator tracks to fulfill their master’s level electives requirements. Students who desire advanced clinical practice preparation (e.g. nurse practitioner) should apply to the MSN program rather than applying to the PhD program.

Students must submit official copies of academic credentials - with literal English translation. All previous academic work must be included, and a syllabus of coursework with English translation should be provided. Students should have an official TOEFL or IELTS Score Report sent - for all applicants for whom English is not their native language. They must also have official GRE, GMAT or other test score report sent. International Students must submit Statement of Finances. Students must copy their information/photo page as in the passport and Letters of Recommendation and/or other supplemental materials required by the academic unit. Students must have a BSN from an NLN or CCNE accredited Baccalaureate program.
