Ringkasan program
This program is focused on the practice of Instructional Systems and the application of research to real world contexts. The D. Ed. typically prepares students for advanced practitioner posts such as curriculum/technology coordinator for public schools, corporate lead instructional designer, or consultant. Upon completion of the Doctor of Education Program, the graduate will be able to: discuss learning processes and implications for the development of effective instruction; conduct comprehensive needs assessments identifying important learner, environmental, and task characteristics; develop effective instructional materials for a variety of learning tasks, student characteristics, and learning environments; evaluate the effectiveness of educational materials; practice instructional design skills in a variety of settings; demonstrate strong communication skills; provide leadership resulting in the practice of sound instructional techniques and methodologies; and interpret research and apply findings to practice. This program is intended for advanced professionals who have a master’s degree and wish to extend their repertoire of professional, operational concepts and skills. The D. Ed. degree is clearly seen as the means to an end-the end being to improve professional practice in schools, corporations, military, health professions and related educational and training environments. Since the D. Ed. is designed to prepare graduates to improve instruction in practical situations, requirements for this degree include an Internship during which they can demonstrate that ability and a dissertation that has an applied focus. For the D. Ed. degree a minimum of 90 credits of graduate work is required. Additional coursework may be required.

All applicants must have received from a regionally accredited institution a master’s degree. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) test scores are required for admissions. In addition, international applicants must also present official scores of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) of 550 or better (paper test), a score of 213 (computer-based test), a total score of 80 with a 23 on the speaking section (internet-based test), or a minimum composite score of 6.5 on the IELTS.
