The program is designed to produce leaders in instruction, research, and administration in Art Education, and to encourage students to make a significant contribution to the body of knowledge , which constitutes the aching/learning and administrating processes in art. The objectives of the program are sought through: 1. Selective admission procedures. 2. A curriculum which is interdisciplinary and adaptive to deepening knowledge in a particular research area. 3. Continues evaluation to ascertain achievement level and potential of the student for further development. 4. Research opportunities and support. 5. Close faculty/student relationships.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

The Art Education doctoral admissions requirements and procedures are subject to all regulations specified for graduate studies in the University Catalog for the academic year in which the doctoral student first matriculates. Individuals interested in applying for admission to the doctoral program should complete the following steps: 1. Complete and return the application form for admission to the University. Application forms can be found at the Office of Admissions website https://admissions.fsu.edu/gradapp/. 2. Complete the Department of Art Education application which can be found at http://www.fsu.edu/~are. 2. Provide the Admissions Office and the Department of Art Education with certified copies of transcripts of all undergraduate and previous graduate courses. Take the Graduate Record Examination achieving a score of 1000 or more and/or obtain a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale on a Master's degree from an accredited institution. Consideration may be given to applicants who do not meet all of these requirements. Deficiencies may be made up. The applicant must be in good standing in the institution of higher education last attended.

On behalf of the Department of Art Education, I welcome you to browse our website and learn about our programs, faculty, and students. We abide by our Mission Statement, which reads, as a comprehensive education and research program art education, art therapy, and arts administration, we strive to effect positive change in the community, the university, and our respective professions. Undergraduate and graduate students will find a community open to the lively exchange of ideas and to teaching and learning on ways visual art can (1) complement and enhance the education of school-aged children, (2) benefit individuals seeking therapeutic interventions, and (3) serve artsorganizations. We house bachelors, masters, and doctoral programs in art education as well as masters and doctoral programs in arts administration and art therapy. Our faculty members excel in teaching and research and are dedicated to providing students with a top-notch educational experience. We embrace students from diverse backgrounds to join as in the celebration of the intrinsic value of art and its importance as social good and as a catalyst for the development of the individual (Department of Art Education Mission Statement).

Florida State University offers several housing options in order to meet the various needs of graduate students. University Housing is committed to providing a comfortable environment that promotes and supports the educational mission of the University.Besides the traditional residence halls available to undergraduate students, FSU has several options for non-traditional undergraduates (23 years of age or older, married, single parent, etc.) and all graduate students. Students may choose from Rogers Hall, Alumni Village or designated spaces in Ragans Hall. Be advised that Rogers and Ragans halls are reserved for single students. Rogers Hall and Alumni Village offer a month-to-month contract, while Ragans Hall only offers a semester contract. Alumni Village offers graduate students a variety of housing options including one and two-bedroom flats and two and three bedroom town houses. Many graduate students relocate with their families; Alumni Village offers comfortable housing for them. Single graduate students can also reside at Alumni Village either alone or with another FSU graduate student roommate of the same gender (selected by the resident).The Florida Clean Air Act, effective as of October 1, 1993, prohibits smoking within any state university system educational facility. Therefore smoking is prohibited in indoor public areas as well as student rooms, apartments and suites.Housing Agreements for graduate students are available after a student has offically been admitted to FSU. To apply for housing, you must do the following: 1) Complete an electronic housing agreement by accessing the on-line application available on the housing website (www.housing.fsu. edu). 2) Return a paper housing agreement with all required information and return it with a non-refundable advance payment of $75, payable to Florida State University.
