Students must have earned a B.A. or BS degree in Chemistry. Students with other degrees will be considered on a case by case basis. In addition, they must have a minimum of a 3.00 grade point average in the last two years of chemistry coursework and a GRE score of 430V, 570Q, 3.0 AW. Students should have a minimum TOEFL total score of 79 on the internet-based test, 213 on the computer-based test, or 550 on the paper-based test. The TOEFL requirement may be waived if the students meets one of the following conditions: have scored 500 or higher on the GRE verbal test; earned a college degree at a U.S. institution of higher learning; earned a college degree from an institution whose language of instruction is English (must be noted on the transcript) or scored 6.5 on International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

University of South Florida provides the on campus housing which is comfortable and convenient for students. They offer a wide range of living options for students who wish to live on campus. There are three types of housing at USF traditional-style, suite-style and apartment-style. In a traditional-style residence hall, double bedrooms are provided with community bathrooms and kitchens on each floor. It includes Beta Hall and Castor Hall with Castor Hall offering both single and double bedrooms. Suite-style residence halls offer the most common type of housing at USF. The halls are grouped into Andros Complex, Cypress Hall and Maple Hall. In Andros Complex, each suite consists of either four double bedrooms or four single bedrooms connected by a semi-private bathroom. The buildings with suites located at Andros include Delta, Epsilon, Eta, Iota, Kappa, Lambda, Mu, Theta and Zeta. In Cypress and Maple Halls, each suite consists of two double bedrooms and one bathroom. In Cypress, Holly and Magnolia apartments, the apartment unit contains four single bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and living room. Kosove apartments offer a mix of single and double bedrooms in 2-5 person apartments. All residence halls are fully air-conditioned, with wall-to-wall carpeting and include cable television, telephone service and Ethernet connections. The residential community includes a convenience store, dining centers, classroom space, study lounges, laundry facilities, mail delivery options and a computer lab.
