Ringkasan program
This program is pursued by outstanding students with an intense interest in independent study and research. It consists of advanced coursework beyond the Master's degree, a written and oral comprehensive preliminary examination, extended and in-depth research, a written dissertation, and a final oral defense of the research. The Transportation Materials and Systems group researches the planning, analysis, design, construction, and management of transport facilities and the materials from which they are built. The research group focuses on two main sub-areas related to transportation: transportation materials, including pavement design, mix design, and materials characterization; transportation systems, including planning, design, operations and safety.

Students should have a bachelor's degree from an EAC-ABET accredited college or university in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline. They should have an overall GPA of at least 3.0. International students should have a TOEFL score of at least 80 on the internet-based Test (iBT) and a minimum test scores for each section: listening (15 points), reading (20 points), writing (20 points) and speaking (20/23/26 points). The maximum total score for the iBT is 120 with each section worth 30 points. They should have an overall band IELTS score of at least 6.5 and a minimum test scores for each section: listing (6.5), reading (6.5) and writing (6.5).
