Ringkasan program

This degree is awarded in recognition of demonstrated scholarly competence and ability to conduct and report original and significant research. Ph.D. students may work in all of the areas of Civil Engineering: engineering mechanics, environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, pavement engineering, materials engineering and science, structural engineering, transportation engineering and planning, and water resources engineering. Graduates of the programs are prepared for careers in academia and with public agencies or private industry and firms involved in planning, design, research and development, or regulation.

Modul program

The modules are for students with a master’s degree, the program consists of a minimum of 60 credits: Core Requirements: minimum of 30 credits coursework are required: minimum 12 credits of coursework are required within the CEE department, minimum 6 credits of coursework are required outside of the CEE department, minimum of 6 credits of math and/or statistics are required, maximum of 6 credits at the 4000 level may be applied to meet the degree requirements, Three credits of graduate instruction methods (CGN 6941) are required, Dissertation Requirements - minimum of 20 credits of dissertation are required, 10 credits of additional coursework, dissertation or directed research are required, For students without a master’s degree, the program consists of a minimum of 90 credits beyond the bachelor’s level: Core Requirements: minimum of 60 credits coursework are required: minimum 24 credits of coursework are required within the CEE department, minimum 6 credits of coursework are required outside of the CEE department, minimum of 6 credits of math and/or statistics are required, Three credits of graduate instruction methods (CGN 6941) are required, Dissertation Requirements: minimum of 20 credits of dissertation are required, 10 credits of additional coursework, dissertation or directed research are required.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students must have one of the following: bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and satisfying at least one of the following criteria: “B” average or better in all work attempted while registered as an undergraduate student working for a degree or “B” or better average in all work attempted while registered as an upper division undergraduate student working for a baccalaureate degree. They should have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and a previous graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution and the equivalent bachelors and/or graduate degrees from a foreign institution. They should have GRE scores of 650Q, 350V and 3.0 AW. Students should have a minimum TOEFL total score of 79 on the internet-based test, 213 on the computer-based test, or 550 on the paper-based test. The TOEFL requirement may be waived if the students meets one of the following conditions: have scored 500 or higher on the GRE verbal test; earned a college degree at a U.S. institution of higher learning; earned a college degree from an institution whose language of instruction is English (must be noted on the transcript) or scored 6.5 on International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
