Ringkasan program

This program requires a minimum of 90 semester hours beyond the bachelor’s degree. Of these 90 hours, at least 60 must be taken at UNT. Thirty hours may be transferred from other institutions at the discretion of the PhD committee of the College of Music. A master’s degree from an accredited institution usually is accepted for the first 30 hours. There are two options, option I: General Program and option II: Computer Music and Media Program, students has to select one of the two option.

Modul program

The modules include MUCP 5080 Composition Seminar, 3 hours, MUCP 6190 Doctoral Composition, 9 hours, 3 hours selected from MUCP 5680 History and Technology of Electroacoustic Music, MUCP 5690 Topics in Electroacoustic Music, and MUCP 6200 Advanced Research in Computer Music, 12 hours selected from MUCP 5580 Contemporary Performance Practices, MUCP 5590 Intermedia Performance Arts 2 and MUCP 6465 Topics in Contemporary Music; up to 6 hours from MUTH 6680 Proseminar in Music Theory 3 or MUMH 6770 Music of the Twentieth Century may be applied toward this requirement, to be determined in consultation with the degree advisor, Option II: Computer music, 15 hours: no more than 9 hours of MUCP 5690 Topics in Electroacoustic Music, and at least 6 hours of MUCP 6200 Advanced Research in Computer Music, MUCP 5080 Composition Seminar 3 hours, MUCP 6190 Doctoral Composition 3 hours, 6 hours selected from MUCP 5580 Contemporary Performance Practices, MUCP 5590 Intermedia Performance Arts 2 and 6465 Topics in Contemporary Music 3; 3 hours from MUTH 6680 Pro-seminar in Music Theory 3 or MUMH 6770 Music of the Twentieth Century 3 may be applied toward this requirement, to be determined in consultation with the degree advisor.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students must hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a regionally accredited institution. Students should have a 2.8 grade point average or higher on all undergraduate work or a 3.0 GPA on the last 60 hours of their undergraduate degree or a 3.4 GPA on their master's degree. International students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 79 (Internet-based), score of 550 (Paper-based) and score of 213 (Computer-based) and a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall band and also should have minimum MELAB (official version) score of 80 or higher.
