Ringkasan program
The purpose of the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Psychology is to provide students with the fundamental knowledge of learning, motivation, development, and cultural foundations of education. This degree will also equip the student with the quantitative and qualitative skills needed to generate and disseminate new research for the field in a manner that promotes change while valuing the diversity of others. This program is designed to prepare students as researchers and practitioners who study issues at the interface of education and psychology as they pertain to teaching, learning, and the learner. The main objective of the program is to assist highly motivated students in developing the vision and competence necessary to conduct basic and applied research directed toward the improvement of educational practice. The curriculum in the educational psychology program fits with the scientist-practitioner model for preparing educational psychologists. Doctoral-level work in educational psychology is conducted in the Department of Educational Psychology and Leadership. This department is part of the College of Education. The Educational Psychology program is one of several programs in the Department of Educational Psychology and Leadership. Students must meet the requirements of the Graduate School, the College of Education, and the Educational Psychology (EPSY) program to receive a doctoral degree.
