Ringkasan program

This program is offered to students interested in developing research skills beyond the master’s level and is focused on an academically oriented career. The program places a strong emphasis on methodology and the scientific process and equips students with the skill set necessary to make significant contributions in the chosen research field. Students are provided one-on-one research supervision at the graduate faculty level and unique insight into the corporate inner-workings of The West Paces Hotel Group (WPHG). They are also encouraged to interact with the WPHG senior leadership team and to identify other possible research partnerships, in order to develop projects that are ground-breaking and theoretically challenging from an applied perspective.

The required core courses include NUFS 6530 Quality of Science in Hospitality 3 credit hours, NUFS 6550 Club Management 3 credit hours, NUFS 6570 Global Hospitality 3 credit hours, NUFS 7050 Methods of Research 2 credit hours, NUFS 8850 Doctoral Seminar 1 credit hour, FOUN 7300 Design and Analysis in Education I 3 credit hours, FOUN 7310 Design and Analysis in Education II 3 credit hours, NUFS 8970 Advanced Topics in Nutrition and Food Science 1-6 credit hours, BUSI 7140 Organizational Leadership and Change 3 credit hours, NUFS 8860 Current Issues in Hospitality Management 3 credit hours, NUFS 8990 Research and Dissertation 10 credit hours.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students to be considered for admission must have completed a bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. institution, or the equivalent from an international institution with good academic good standing in the institution last attended. They must have obtained any one of the following scores: a GPA of at least 2.75 on all undergraduate course work at an accredited United States institution in fulfillment of the requirements for a baccalaureate degree; a GPA of at least 3.0 on all graduate course work at an accredited United States institution in fulfillment of the requirements for a graduate degree; or an acceptable GRE scores (GMAT scores may be substituted for GRE scores). Also students whose native language is not English must demonstrate their proficiency with English language either with a TOEFL scores of at least 550 on the written test or 213 on the computer based test or 79 on the internet based test.
