Ringkasan program
In this program graduate students in political science have access to state-of-the-art micro- and mainframe computer resources and have full, free access to the extensive data resources of the ICPSR for use in their areas of research interest. The professional development of graduate students is encouraged through regular student and faculty colloquia. It requires a minimum of 90 semester hours beyond the bachelor’s degree if the student does not choose to earn a master’s degree. If the student already holds a master’s degree in political science, a minimum of 60 hours beyond the master’s degree is required. A student must elect three areas of study for the Doctor of Philosophy degree, at least two of which must be in political science. Additional course work will be taken in other areas of political science or a related field. The student must pass qualifying examinations in two political science areas.

Students must hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a regionally accredited institution. Students should have a 2.8 grade point average or higher on all undergraduate work or a 3.0 GPA on the last 60 hours of their undergraduate degree or a 3.4 GPA on their master's degree. Students should have a minimum of 24 hours of undergraduate or graduate credit in political science. International students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 79 (Internet-based), score of 550 (Paper-based) and score of 213 (Computer-based) and a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall band and also should have minimum MELAB (official version) score of 80 or higher.
