In this program, research activities include: Mutagenic mechanisms in human populations; the enzymology and regulation of cellular DNA replication and repair; molecular mechanisms of genetic recombination; structural biology of proteins and nucleic acids; cell cycle control of transcription and DNA replication in eukaryotes; regulation and enzymology of RNA polymerase II transcription; enzymology and atomic structure of mammalian cell mRNA processing factors; molecular basis of tRNA recognition; ribozyme structure and enzymology; signaling networks that regulate morphogenesis in yeast; isolation and regulation of mating type genes in Schizophyllum; plant growth and development; molecular mechanisms of bacterial adhesin and pathogenesis; molecular and cellular mechanisms of host-pathogen interactions; and bacterial transformations of organic pollutants.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students should have a baccalaureate degree prior to the date of first enrollment; biology, one year; chemistry: one year of inorganic chemistry, one year of organic chemistry; physics, one year; mathematics through calculus and have a satisfactory score on the general aptitude portion of the Graduate Record Examination. Foreign students whose native tongue is not English should take the TOEFL. A score of at least 550 (or 213 for the computer-based test) is required for admission.
