Ringkasan program
This program seeks to provide students at the doctoral level with training that goes beyond the margins of purely discipline-based research. At the same time, enrollment in any of the Ph.D. programs provides students with a solid grounding in several disciplines. This is mainly done through course work, research, colloquia and lecture series, and other aspects of interaction with graduate students and faculty. The mission of the Fine and Performing Arts (FPA) is to provide a breadth of training and experience across the traditional divisions of the Arts for those who already have developed professional skills in one or more areas, such as dance, music, theatre, and the visual arts. The program offers a balance between a series of core courses and an individually prescribed curriculum. All arts applied study includes a significant research component. The goal of the program is to enable students to be conversant in the arts as a whole. To this end, all students are required to take traditional seminars in areas outside their chosen discipline. The analytical and creative aspects of the program will allow students to develop a base of knowledge and a degree of flexibility useful both in the traditional and in the increasingly interdisciplinary academic world of the arts today.
Modul program
The modules include Analytical and Creative Studies in the Arts, Aesthetics and Philosophy of the Arts 6 credits, Music Core: Concepts, Culture and Creation, Theatre Core: Performance Theory and Practice, Art Core: A Thematic Study 9 credits, Studies in comparative, major or secondary areas (including at least 6 credits from the arts component of the Public Intellectuals program) 27 credits, Dissertation 12 credits.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Students should have an undergraduate GPA of 3.5 and GRE test score of 1100. In addition to this, international students should have obtained a TOEFL score of 500 or CBT score of 173 or IBT of 61.
