This program is the application of the principles of psychology to the learning and developmental processes of children and adolescents. School psychologists conduct psychological and educational evaluations in order to plan remedial programs for students, counsel students with learning and school adjustment problems, consult with school personnel and parents, develop and implement educational and psychological programs for schools, and evaluate school programs. It is grounded in the scientist-practitioner model of training. Strong emphasis is placed on child mental health promotion, primary prevention, and intervention with a broad range of community related problems involving children, families, and schools. In this and other ways, the program is responsive to on-going societal concerns facing children. It prepares its graduates to work in schools, clinics, community agencies, and hospitals.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Applicants must have: Baccalaureate degree from U.S. Accredited institutions or international degree equivalent to U.S accredited institutions; Official transcripts of all completed college coursework - Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.25 recommended; Two (2) letters of reference; appropriate scores on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), combined Verbal and Quantitative scores of 1000 or more are preferred. All international students are required to submit TOEFL scores in order to be considered for admission to UCA. It require TOEFL scores in order to ensure that all entering students have the English skills necessary to be successful in their classes. The required TOEFL scores are: 550 - Paper-based Test; 213 - Computer-based Test; 80 - Internet-based Test. The required IELTS score is 6.5.
