Ringkasan program
In this program the students must complete at least 90 semester hours of graduate course work. All Ph.D. students are required to register for PHYS 698, Physics Seminar, for two semesters. In addition to this, the students must complete at least five core courses such as Classical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics I and II, Statistical Physics I, Electromagnetic Theory I and II. The students required to finish 12 semester hours in Distribution Requirements, 24 semester hours in Dissertation and 39 Elective graduate work course.

Students seeking admission to the Ph.D. program in physics must have a background equivalent to that attained by acquiring the B.S. degree in physics at NIU. Although applicants are not required to submit scores other than the GRE General Test score required for admission to the Graduate School, the submission of scores from the GRE Subject Test in physics could enhance their application.
