The doctoral degree in counseling psychology is designed to build on previous training in psychology and prepare professionals for a variety of work settings. Primarily, Psy.D. graduates pursue licensure for the practice of psychology and provide counseling, psychotherapy, assessment, supervision, administration, teaching and evaluation. Applicants are expected to have completed a master's degree in counseling psychology or its equivalent. The doctoral curriculum involves a minimum of 75 semester hours of coursework over a minimum four-year period. The cohort model is intended to assist students in developing a sense of group identity and cohesion to provide a supportive foundation for cohort members to pursue doctoral work. The cohort model of training facilitates the professional growth of students and enhances the learning environment by consistently reinforcing collaborative approaches to skill acquisition while providing a supportive educational experience.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

The applicant must hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university or its equivalent. A minimum scores in Test of English as a Foreign Language 550 Paper-based, 213 Computer-based, 80 Internet- based with a minimum score of 20 for both the writing, and speaking sections of the test School code 6110. Michigan English Language Assessment Battery 80, International English Language Testing System, 6.5 for graduate programs. Master’s programs require a bachelor’s degree (or the equivalent degree if earned outside the U.S.) for admission. An overall grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.7 meets minimum requirements, but applicants with lower GPAs will be considered based on their professional experience.
