Ringkasan program
This program is designed as a professional degree in which a carefully selected cohort of educational leaders develop advanced research and leadership skills to address specific problems that have local, regional and national implications for teaching and learning, education reform and transformation, and professional development. It is expected that program graduates, working directly in public schools and districts, will serve as transformational leaders, taking their organizations to high levels of student achievement and creating organizations focused on diversity and acceptance of productive change.

This program is designed to admit candidates who meet the academic requirements for rigorous doctoral study and who possess personal qualities and professional experiences that suggest a strong potential for success both as doctoral students and as educational leaders. Meeting the minimum requirements qualifies an individual for consideration, but does not guarantee admission to the program. Admission will be granted on a competitive basis. The admission requires: An earned baccalaureate degree and master's degree or equivalent from accredited institutions of higher education with a cumulative GPA in upper division and/or graduate study of 3.0 or above; Sufficient preparation and experience pertinent to educational leadership to benefit from the program; Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores; Demonstrated leadership experience in PK-12 or related setting; Demonstrated academic excellence, problem-solving ability, and an interest in critically assessing and bringing about improvements within current educational policies and practices; Three confidential letters of support attesting to the leadership ability and scholarship of the candidate; A written statement of purpose reflecting understanding of the challenges facing PK-12 schools; Professional resume; Example of academic writing; A statement of support for the candidate’s doctoral studies from her/his employer or, in the cases where this is not provided, an indication of the candidate’s plan for meeting the demands of the program and his/her professional responsibilities.
