The Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in Leadership is a program designed for working professionals. Classes meet over a three-year period one weekend per month during the fall and spring semesters. Core Course coursework begins with a weeklong summer residency. Concurrent with core coursework, the collateral courses typically meet one evening per week during the fall, spring and summer sessions. During your doctoral studies, the students will learn the foundations of leadership by Contributing to a culture of intellectual challenge and support within a community of learners, Deepening their understanding of leadership and organizational theory, Analyzing critical issues in education related to equity, global interdependence, conflicting cultural values, and accelerating social and technological change. Examining ethical dimensions of policy and decision making, Utilizing research, critical analysis and imagination in planning, problem solving and evaluation, Increasing knowledge and understanding in specialized areas of education and leadership.

The core study are in Leaders and Organizations: Multidisciplinary Perspectives, Leaders and Organizations: Multidisciplinary Perspectives 2, Critical Issues in Their Political, Social and Economic Contexts, Power, Freedom and Change, Ethical Dimensions of Leadership, Leadership Narrative Seminar.

The applicant must hold a Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university or its equivalent. A minimum scores in Test of English as a Foreign Language 550 Paper-based, 213 Computer-based, 80 Internet- based with a minimum score of 20 for both the writing, and speaking sections of the test School code 6110. Michigan English Language Assessment Battery 80, International English Language Testing System, 6.5 for graduate programs. Master's programs require a bachelor's degree (or the equivalent degree if earned outside the U.S.) for admission. An overall grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.7 meets minimum requirements, but applicants with lower GPAs will be considered based on their professional experience.Admissions test results. Miller Analogies Test (MAT) score of 55 or 390 (less than five years old), a cumulative Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score of 1500 or 420 verbal/550 quantitative/4.0 analytical writing or a GMAT score of 510 preferred.
