This program prepares them to assume the roles of clinician, educator, consultant, researcher, and administrator, with a commitment to lifelong learning. Students are guided to develop critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills based upon evidence-based practice and the ethical standards set forth by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Graduates of this program will be prepared as primary health care providers, performing screenings, examinations, evaluations, differential diagnosis, prognosis, and developing plans of care. They will demonstrate the ability to predict outcomes based on scientific evidence, administer and design client-appropriate physical therapy interventions, develop wellness and prevention programs, and conduct discharge planning. Students will be educated in a college environment that truly supports the multi-disciplinary concepts of patient care and a hands-on, accessible approach to learning.

Applicants admission requirements for this program : A minimum of 80 semester credits from a CHEA regionally accredited college/university (At least 9 semester credits must be completed at a 4-year college at the Junior or Senior level.); A minimum, cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; Graduate Records Examination (General G.R.E.) score report – Use Institutional Code 0619; A minimum of 50 hours of clinical experience in a Physical Therapy setting ; A grade of C or better in the following prerequisite courses: Anatomy and Physiology 1with labs or Anatomy and Physiology 2 with labs*, Anatomy and Physiology 2 with labs** or General Biology 1 with labs or General Biology 2 with labs, General Chemistry 1 with labs and General Chemistry 2 with labs, General Physics 1 with labs and General Physics 2 with labs, General Psychology, Psychology Elective, Statistics, English, Three (3), Upper Division (junior/senior) courses. * Students must complete at least 1 semester of Anatomy and Physiology, ** The same Anatomy and Physiology course can only be counted once; Additional Courses: Organic Chemistry, Physical Education, Computer Science. Minimum grade of B preferred in all science prerequisite courses. Only science courses designed for science majors are acceptable.
