This combined dual degree program administered through the UH Law Center and the UH Department of History. The curriculum combines legal theory and practical training with graduate work in legal and constitutional history. Students enrolled at the UH Law Center who are successfully pursuing legal studies are eligible to apply for admission to the program during their first year in law school.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students must have earned a four-year baccalaureate degree or higher degree from an accredited college or university, equivalent of a U.S. Bachelor’s degree. Students should have secured a minimum score of 550 (paper-based) or 79 (internet-based) on the test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or overall band score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

The Law Center seeks not only to provide training in substantive areas of the law, but also to create an understanding of the role and function of law in society. Because the primary concern of a lawyer is conflict resolution, the Law Center emphasizes training that enables students to identify the critical issues that create conflict and to advise clients regarding conflict resolution. The process includes both planning to avoid problems and participating in various methods to solve them. The Law Center aims to develop technical competence in drafting, negotiating, and litigating, and it further aims to develop an understanding of the law in various fields and of the process by which law is formed and changed. The presence of other academic disciplines at the University of Houston supports the legal education objectives of the Law Center.

University has on campus housing which is maintained by residential life and housing. The residential halls include Moody Towers, Quadrangle, Cougar Place and some privately owned halls are Cullen Oaks and Bayou Oaks. The student housing ranges from traditional single or double dorm rooms to suite-style halls to fully furnished on-campus apartments. All facilities are equipped with up-to-date amenities including cable TV and Ethernet connectivity. Apartment options also have kitchens. Meal plans are flexible and students can choose a weekly or semester meal allowance. The university offers world-class exercise equipment and facilities for an assortment of recreational activities. It is a great place to indulge the senses with a performance or an art exhibit. Stages on campus host dance, musical, and theatrical performances throughout the year. Students have a variety of options for parking on campus. In addition, several Metro bus routes serve the campus. Metro Van Pool services are also available for students who would like to get to know other commuters on the way to school.
