The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering offers a B.S. degree in the field of chemical engineering that is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. The department also offers programs leading to the Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering and the M.S. degree in chemical engineering. Today's world is full of challenges for those who want to help create better and safer products for the home and for industry, develop new resources of energy, fight pollution and preserve our environment and natural resources. Chemical Engineers accept these challenges. In fact, we believe a degree in chemical engineering is the best preparation for someone who wants to make a difference in the world today. The Chemical Engineering Program at The University of Alabama, since the early 1900’s, derives its educational and scientific purpose from its responsibilities to and relationship with the citizens of Alabama and the international community of chemical engineering professionals. Residents of campus housing have access to many resources, including various services and facilities located in and near the residence halls. These include access to: Resnet, Computer Labs, Telecom and Bama Dining locations. Residence Hall Association Bryce Lawn is an upperclassmen apartment community located on Bryce Lawn Drive between Campus and University. Each apartment features three single bedrooms. Each bedroom is furnished with a twin bed, desk, and dresser. The three residents share one full bathroom and a half bath that contains a sink and shower. The living room is furnished with a sofa and chair. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, electric stove, dishwasher, washer, dryer, and kitchen table with chairs. The Highlands feature furnished apartments with four students sharing a living/dining room area, kitchen, 3 bathrooms (with 1 shower, 1 bathtub/shower, 2 toilets and 3 sinks) and three bedrooms. The large bedroom is a double bedroom and the two smaller bedrooms are singles. The layout of handicapped-accessible apartments varies in the lakeside residence halls Each private room is furnished with a 3 drawer chest, a split pedestal desk, an upholstered two- position desk chair, and a junior loft bed.
