Colorado College is a private, four-year liberal arts college, Colorado College located on a 90-acre campus in downtown Colorado Springs near the base of the 14,110-foot Pikes Peak and about an hour from Denver. Colorado College consistently ranked in the top tier in U.S. News and World Report for our academic excellence, CC is the only such college in the Rocky Mountain region. Best known for our innovative Block Plan, where students take and professors teach only one course at a time, Colorado College offers a new perspective on core classes and standard curriculum. Colorado College offers on campus housing with various halls such as Traditional Halls which is sub-divided into three as Loomis halls, Slocum halls, and Mathias halls. Loomis Hall has approximately 260 first and second year students and is almost always buzzing with activity. The centrally located co-educational hall offers great opportunity for involvement and access to campus resources. Slocum is a smoke-free building, as are all of the residential buildings, and students have the option to live on substance free wings when they do not want alcohol or other drugs to interfere with their living environment. Slocum houses approximately 270 students. Mathias houses approximately accommodate 300 freshmen and sophomore students a substance-free wing; and upper-class suites where several bedrooms are grouped around a common living room.
