The department is comprised of faculty members who teach, supervise, and advise undergraduate and graduate candidates pursuing degrees in education. The faculty devotes time building knowledge, enhancing skills, and fostering attitudes that prepare UCA candidates to demonstrate teaching excellence and reflective decision-making. The faculty members collaborate with school partners for the purpose of integrating theory and practice through hands-on experiences early in the program of study. As a result of these experiences, the candidates graduate with an excellent record of achievement.

The residence halls/apartments are more than buildings; they are living and learning centers. They have traditional residence halls, campus apartments, and family housing options to fit their different housing needs. The campus is divided into five areas: Area 1, Area 2, Area 3, Area 4, and Area 5. Each area has a professional staff member that supervises each of the buildings or apartments. The areas include the following halls or apartments. Area 1 includes: Arkansas Hall, Baridon Hall, Bernard Hall, Carmichael Hall, Conway Hall. Area 2 includes: Farris Honors Hall, Hughes Residential College, New Hall, Short/Denney Residential College, State Residential College. Area 3 includes: College View Apartments, Elizabeth Place Apartments, Erbach Apartments, OakTree Apartments, Stadium Park Apartments; Torryson Apartments. Area 4 includes: Bear Village Apartments, Mountaineer Apartments. Area 5 includes: Baldridge Family Housing Apartments, Brentwood Apartments, Caldwell Family Housing Apartments, Donnell Ridge Family Housing Apartments, St.James Place Apartments.
