Juris Doctor and a Master of Business Administration degree in three and one-half years to four years. All the requirements of the J.D. and M.B.A. programs must be fulfilled, except that six law credits may count toward the business degree, and six business credits may count toward the J.D., saving the student as many as 12 credits for both degrees. Students wishing to pursue the J.D./M.B.A. program must be admitted to the J.D. and M.B.A. programs separately. Students wishing to pursue the J.D./M.B.A. program must commence the study of law first. Students who have already commenced work on the M.B.A. are not eligible for the joint program. A J.D. requires at least 88 credits, six of which may be satisfied by M.B.A. courses. A student in the joint program therefore needs at least 82 law school credits. The School of Law's dean of students office will determine which six credits from the M.B.A. program will be credited to the law degree. The first-year law school curriculum is prescribed (except for an elective in the spring of the first year). Law studies must commence in the fall. The upper-level law curriculum is largely elective, though there are certain requirements that must be met beyond the simple accumulation of course credits. In addition to all other requirements for the J.D., students in the joint J.D./M.B.A. program must complete Business Associations (4 credits), Commercial Law I (4 credits), and Federal Income Taxation (4 credits), and complete at least 12 credits from certain business-related courses at the law school. (See the Student Handbook for details.) Students must also earn at least 96 residency credits.

Students applying to the Juris Doctor program must possess a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. regionally accredited institution, or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution. To be considered for admission, student must receive a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university prior to enrolling at the School of Law. The 75th percentile LSAT score and grade point average of the 2007 entering class are a 160 LSAT and 3.64 G.P.A. The 25th percentile LSAT score and G.P.A. for the same class are a 155 LSAT and 3.23 G.P.A. Note that multiple LSAT scores are averaged in the admissions process. Applicants whose native language is not English, and whose undergraduate education is from outside the U.S., are required to submit a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score. School require a minimum score of 600 on the paper-based test, 250 on the computer-based test, and a total score of 100 on the internet-based test.
