Northeastern offers the premier Co-op Program in the country: the law students receive their JD in the same three-year time period as students from other law schools, but graduate with the equivalent of one full year of legal experience. On average, 40 percent of the students accept post-graduate positions with their former co-op employers and for the past three years, an average 96 percent have secured positions within six months of graduating.

The Department of Residence Life strives to create a community for the residents by planning programs and activities that help students get to know others on their floor and in their residence hall. It also provides services that support the residents in accomplishing their academic and personal goals. Residence Life staff are trained in counseling, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution, as well as interpersonal communications in order to assist the students to achieve their aspirations. Each hall is supervised by a residence director and resident assistants, individuals who maintain close contact with students and who serve as administrators for the buildings. It offers a variety of housing options tied to specific programs of study. These living learning communities offer students a supportive, achievement-oriented environment with opportunities for friendship around common interests as well as continued learning and sharing outside the classroom. Living Learning Communities commonly feature tutoring, advising, and study groups as well as unique programs designed to promote student growth and advancement. It also recognizes that some students prefer to live in an environment of shared values and choices, which the lifestyle and cultural options housing also provides.
