In this program, students who have been admitted to the School of Law, who have satisfactorily completed 85 semester credits, and who have otherwise satisfied the requirements of the university and the School of Law are granted the J.D. degree provided that they obtain, at least two years before completing work for the J.D. degree, a B.A. or B.S. or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university; complete successfully prescribed first-year courses; complete successfully constitutional law II (LAW 644) and legal profession (LAW 649); fulfill a skills requirement and a writing requirement; have been full-time law students at the School of Law for at least six semesters or equivalent; and fulfill other requirements as may be imposed. Students in the School of Law may accrue up to 5 of the required 85 semester credits by successfully completing graduate-level courses or seminars at the University of Oregon. These courses must be relevant to their program of legal studies and approved in advance by the assistant dean for student affairs. A total of three years of full-time resident professional study in the University of Oregon School of Law or another law school of recognized standing is required for the J.D. degree. Except in unusual circumstances, the last two years must be in residence at the University of Oregon School of Law. In order to earn an ocean and coastal law statement of completion, a student must satisfactorily complete both of the following courses: coastal law and ocean law. As an alternative to completing the above-referenced curriculum, a candidate for the ocean and coastal law statement of completion may serve as a research assistant with the Ocean and Coastal Law Center for at least one academic year. A student who wishes to earn the statement of completion via the research assistant program must also complete an academic research paper of high professional quality concerning an ocean or coastal law topic. The student must receive advance approval of their topic by the director of the Ocean and Coastal Law Center. As an alternative to the curriculum or research assistant options for earning the statement of completion, a student may serve as a marine law or policy fellow in a state or federal fellowship program for at least one semester.

At least nine hours of credit: Climate Change in International Law, Climate Change Law and Policy, Comparative Environmental Law, Energy and the Law, Environment and Pollution, Environmental Conflict Resolution, Environmental Law Alliance Externship, Environmental Law Clinic, Global Environmental Challenges, Hazardous Waste Law, Human Rights and Environment, Indian Law, International Environmental Law, International Law, Land Use Law, Natural Resources Law, Public Land Law, Renewable Energy Law, Water Resources Law, and Wildlife Law.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a minimum GPA of 3.00 on the 4-point scale. Students must register with the JD Credential Assembly Service (JDCAS). The minimum TOEFL scores for international graduate admissions (which include law school) are 600 for the paper-based TOEFL and 90 for the internet-based TOEFL and the scores should be taken within the two years preceding the date of student’s application.
