Ringkasan program
This program's major purpose is enabling students to explore a range of subject areas as well as concentrating in a particular field of law. This flexibility encourages students to study new legal areas for the first time, as well as to further their specialization in particular subjects. Students may obtain a certificate of specialization in Insurance Law as part of their LL.M. degree. The certificate in Law and Public Policy requires course work at both the Law School and the Department of Public Policy (DPP) in West Hartford. To be eligible for this certificate, students must make formal application to, and be accepted in, the Law and Public Policy program. All candidates for the certificate in Law and Public Policy must complete a three-credit course in Administrative Law, which is a pre- or co-requisite for the program, 12 credit hours of course work, which must include two courses at the DPP and two policy-related courses at the Law School and either a supervised writing project (sufficient to fulfill the Law School's upper-class writing requirement) on a public policy-related topic, or a supervised externship in public policy, with a significant writing component.

Applicants must hold a J.D. or equivalent degree from a law faculty outside the United States. Applicants must have a minimum TOEFL score of at least 585 on the paper-based exam, 240 on the computer based exam or 90 - 100 points on the internet based exam.
