This program is designed for the working nurses in their region. The majority of the theory courses are online, requiring only minimal time on campus. Clinical requirements will be met by a combination of high technology simulation scenarios in the Chico Simulation Center, by specific clinical experiences in specialty clinical settings, and by preceptorships in the LVN’s local setting whenever possible.

Students must be a high school graduate with a 3.0 (B in the US) or very good average. They should have three years of university - preparatory mathematics courses including at least Beginning Algebra, Geometry, and Intermediate Algebra. The SAT-I is not required for admission except for freshmen students with 3 or more years of high school study in the US. International students whose native is not English must demonstrate proficiency in English language by TOEFL or IELTS scores; the official international score of TOEFL is 500 on the paper-based exam, 173 on the computer-based exam, or 61 on the iBT internet-based TOEFL. For IELTS band 6 is required.
