The program is conducted under the auspices of the dean of graduate studies and research and the executive dean of the school of medicine, with assistance from their MD-PhD advisory committee. On average, students spend about 6-7 years in the program; the variable period usually depends on the time needed to complete their research and dissertation. The department offers a combined program for students who wish to pursue the M.D. and Ph.D. degrees concurrently. Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students pursuing the Ph.D. degree must complete the first year of the IGPBS. Students are required to take two of three core courses in their subject area [Immunology (MICR 808), Bacterial Genetics and Pathogenesis (MICR 820) or Virology (MICR 835)] as well as an advanced course. Students give presentations in the departmental student seminar series and attend the departmental seminar program. MCAT scores will be included in your AMCAS application, otherwise have official copy sent to the MD-PhD Program. Submit GRE scores if taken, or if specifically requested by Kansas MD-PhD Program. Selected applicants will be invited for interviews in Kansas City. Accepted students must provide an official transcript indicating receipt of a Baccalaureate degree from a fully accredited institution by the time of matriculation into the program. Please bring a wallet-size color photo with your name on back to the interview - it will not be returned. You may send a digital photo via e-mail prior to your arrival, if you prefer. TOEFL scores (minimum score of 570 or 230 for computer based) and a copy of your Test of Spoken English (TSE-minimum score of 50)
