Ringkasan program

The program is designed for students to attain their master's level (Class A) teacher certification and includes coursework which updates students' knowledge and skills in mathematics, mathematics education, and supporting areas. The program is intended to help teachers develop higher levels of competence than is possible in initial certification programs. For the Master of Education (M.Ed.) students must complete at least 30 semester hours beyond the bachelor’s degree (at least 10 hours in the teaching field, nine hours in professional education in the area of specialization and at least six hours of support courses selected from research; evaluation; human behavior, development or learning; social action or political perspectives; and technology applications). While the requirement is same for the Master of Science (M.S.) but it requires a thesis of at least four hours.

Modul program

The courses include (teaching field: 15 hours at least 1/3 of the program shall be teaching field courses). Select 15 hours of advisor approved 6000-7000 level courses in Mathematics Technology: Content covered in CTSE 6040 Survey of Special Education Coursework: 0-3 hours (Required if not previously completed.) RSED 6000/6006 Adv Survey Exceptionality 0-3 hours, Additional Courses 15 hours, Select 9 hours from the following: CTSE 6040 Techn and Appl in Sec Math 3 hours, CTSE 7510 Research Studies: Math 3 hours, CTSE 7520 Curric and Tchg Math 3 hours, CTSE 7530 Organization of Program Math 3 hours, CTSE 7540 Evaluation of Program Math 3 hours, CTSE 7900 Directed Studies VC, CSTE 7910 Practicum 1-3 hours, CTSE 7970 Special Topics VC, CTSE 7990 Research and Thesis 4 hours, Select 6 hours from support courses outside Mathematics and Mathematics Education: Research, Eval of Learning, of Individual, or of Programs, Human Behavior, Development, or Learning, Social Action or Political Perspectives, Technology Applications.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students to be considered for admission must have completed a bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. institution, or the equivalent from an international institution with good academic good standing in the institution last attended. They must have obtained any one of the following scores: a GPA of at least 2.75 on all undergraduate course work at an accredited United States institution in fulfillment of the requirements for a baccalaureate degree; a GPA of at least 3.0 on all graduate course work at an accredited United States institution in fulfillment of the requirements for a graduate degree; or an acceptable GRE scores with verbal score of above 400 and quantitative score of above 400. Also students whose native language is not English must demonstrate their proficiency in English language either with a TOEFL scores of at least 550 on the written test (213 on the computer based test, 79 on the Internet Based Test with 16 in each section) or IELTS scores of at least 6.5.
