Ringkasan program
This program is a 48-semester-hour track leads to a Master of Education (MEd) degree and prepares graduates to counsel in P-12 school settings. The program areas meet the educational requirement for Certification as a School Counselor in Texas; however, candidates must also have two years teaching experience and pass the TExAS - Counselor examination to be eligible for School Counselor Certification in Texas. With one additional course, the tracks meet the educational requirement for Licensure as a Professional Counselor in Texas.

The modules include COUN 5200 Counseling Adolescents 3, COUN 5460 Program Development, Leadership and Ethics in School Counseling 3, COUN 5470 Career Development and Information Resources 3, COUN 5600 Counseling in Secondary Schools 3, COUN 5660 Advanced Counseling Skills 3, COUN 5680 Basic Counseling Skills 3, COUN 5690 Practicum in Counseling 3, COUN 5710 Counseling Theories 3, COUN 5720 Internship in Counseling I 3, COUN 5721 Internship in Counseling II 3, COUN 5740 Group Counseling Theories and Procedures 3, COUN 5760 Appraisal in Child and Adolescent Counseling 3 and COUN 5790 Counseling Culturally Diverse Clients 3; EPSY 5210 Educational Statistics 3; and DFST 5123 Human Development Across the Life Span 3 or COUN 5670 Developmental Processes and Strategies 3.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Students must hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a regionally accredited institution. Students should have a 2.8 grade point average or higher on all undergraduate work or a 3.0 GPA on the last 60 hours of their undergraduate degree or a 3.4 GPA on their master's degree. International students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 79 (Internet-based), score of 550 (Paper-based) and score of 213 (Computer-based) and a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall band and also should have minimum MELAB (official version) score of 80 or higher.
