Ringkasan program
This program is designed for students to attain their master's level (Class A) teacher certification. Graduates of this program complete coursework that will prepare them to implement skills in the areas of curriculum development and teaching methods, evaluation of teaching and learning, and identification and utilization of technological resources. They are also required to complete an internship which provides practical application related to English for Speakers of Other Languages Education.

The courses include (teaching field: 21 hours at least 1/3 of the program shall be teaching field courses) ENGL 7250 Eng Lang Lrng and Dev OR 3 hours, CTES 7420 Second Lang Acquisition, ENGL 6840 Modern Eng Grammars OR 3 hours, CTSE 6010 Lang Study for Teachers, CTES 7460 Teaching ESL in Pre-K-12 3 hours, CTES 7470 Issues in ESL Education 3 hours, CTES 7480 Assessment in ESL 3 hours, Other advisor approved 6000-7000 level 6 hours, Courses in English/ESL/Lang Arts/Language, Survey of Special Education Coursework: 0-3 hours, (Required if not previously completed.): RSED 6000/6006 Adv Survey Exceptionality 0-3 hours, Additional Courses: 6 hours, Select 6 hours from support courses outside of English as a Second Language and English: FOUN 7020 Soc and Cult Diversity in Am Ed OR 3 hours, FOUN 7000 Cult Foundations of Education Other support courses from the following: 3 hours: Research, Eval of learning, of individuals, or of programs, Human behavior, Development, or Learning, Social Action or Political Perspectives, Technology Application Internship (if required) 3 hours: CTES 7920 Internship 3 hours.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Students to be considered for admission must have completed a bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. institution, or the equivalent from an international institution with good academic good standing in the institution last attended. They must have obtained any one of the following scores: a GPA of at least 2.75 on all undergraduate course work at an accredited United States institution in fulfillment of the requirements for a baccalaureate degree; a GPA of at least 3.0 on all graduate course work at an accredited United States institution in fulfillment of the requirements for a graduate degree; or an acceptable GRE scores with verbal score of above 400 and quantitative score of above 400. Also students whose native language is not English must demonstrate their proficiency in English language either with a TOEFL scores of at least 550 on the written test (213 on the computer based test, 79 on the Internet Based Test with 16 in each section) or IELTS scores of at least 6.5.
