Ringkasan program
The main objective of this program is the preparation of problem solving psychologists who work effectively with others in the identification and remediation of social and educational problems with children and adults. The aim of this professional preparation is to develop school psychologists who are grounded thoroughly in the principles of human behavior and educational psychology. School psychology students at the University of Oregon are trained to be scientists/practitioners. This approach means that students master and employ valid scientific methods and valid assessment and intervention strategies to prevent and resolve problems. Interventions are treated as plausible hypotheses that must be evaluated continuously as part of service provision. Each school psychology student's course of study is individualized to allow development of special expertise and interests. The primary emphasis of the school psychology program is doctoral training, and students who are seeking a terminal master's degree are seldom admitted. This program in school psychology requires a minimum of 91 credits, and typically takes 3 years to complete, including a full-time internship for one academic year in a public school setting. It is approved by the Oregon Teacher's Standards and Practices Commission, and graduates of this program meet State of Oregon licensure requirements. This program is designed to achieve the competencies established by the National Association of School Psychologists, and graduates of the program have been successful in receiving the National Accredited School Psychologist certificate.

Students must hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a minimum GPA of 3.00. Students must have a minimum GRE scores (verbal and quantitative) of 1000. Students must have a minimum Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 575 on the paper-based test or minimum IELTS (academic module) overall band score of 7.0.
