This program has six credits earned from the School of Law (which replace the six internship credits normally required for the M.A. degree in marine affairs), students must complete 24 credits in marine affairs from among the following courses: Aquaculture Management (3-9 credits), Fisheries Economics (3 credits), Coastal Zone Management (3 credits), Geographical Information Systems (3-6 credits), Economics of Natural Resources (3 credits), Marine Cultural Resource Management (3 credits), Environmental Planning and Environmental Impact Statement (3 credits), Ocean Policy (3 credits), Fieldwork in Coastal Cultures (3 credits), Political Ecology of Marine Resources (3 credits), Underwater Archaeology (3 credits), or other approved courses at the Rosenstiel School, such as RSMAS core courses. This course list will be updated from time to time and students should consult with a faculty advisor, or other designated person, prior to registering for any course not specifically listed above, or to ensure a course not listed will be credited toward this degree. RSMAS, Division of Marine Affairs and Policy makes no representation that all of the above courses will be available to any given student at all times during the course of his or her studies.

Students applying to the Juris Doctor program must possess a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. regionally accredited institution, or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution. To be considered for admission, student must receive a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university prior to enrolling at the School of Law. The 75th percentile LSAT score and grade point average of the 2007 entering class are a 160 LSAT and 3.64 G.P.A. The 25th percentile LSAT score and G.P.A. for the same class are a 155 LSAT and 3.23 G.P.A. Note that multiple LSAT scores are averaged in the admissions process. Applicants whose native language is not English, and whose undergraduate education is from outside the U.S., are required to submit a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score. School require a minimum score of 600 on the paper-based test, 250 on the computer-based test, and a total score of 100 on the internet-based test.
