The Master of Science in Management degree is a career path for students with technical expertise who want to develop broader career options. Available concentrations include project management; management of information systems; production and operations management and marketing and new product development. You may also explore other technical concentrations at RPI. It is a specialized 30-credit program that may be pursued via evening or daytime courses. The program is designed for students who wish to concentrate their studies in a particular area. The criteria for candidates completing the M.S. program are as follows: The academic program must specialize and focus on management and technology; the approved Plan of Study includes Accounting for Reporting and Control, Financial Management I, Creating and Managing an Enterprise I and II. In addition, a concentration consisting of four related courses is required; the conclusion of the academic program must include a culminating experience. The recommended course is Strategy, Technology, and Global Competitive Advantage. The Management of Information Systems concentration is designed for professionals seeking executive positions responsible for achieving competitive advantage through the effective development and integration of information technology into organizations. The concentration courses use an interdisciplinary approach to the practices and methodologies of systems analysis, design, development, integration, and evaluation of information technology into business functions and processes.

Modul program

This concentration requires students to take MGMT 6140 (Spring) if they do not have an IT background. All students concentrating in MIS should take MGMT 6180 (Spring). Students then may fulfill the remaining requirements from the list below: MGMT 6140 - Information Systems for Management Credit Hours: 3, MGMT 6170 - Advanced Systems Analysis and Design Credit Hours: 3, MGMT 6180 - Strategic Information Systems Management Credit Hours: 3, Electives: Elective options include: DSES 6530 - Decision Support and Expert Systems Credit Hours: 3, MGMT 4130 - Enterprise IT Integration Credit Hours: 4, MGMT 4150 - IT Project Management Credit Hours: 4, MGMT 6180 - Strategic Information Systems Management Credit Hours: 3.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

The MS in Management is a general management degree with a specialized focal area. Specific requirements are developed for an individual student or a specialized audience. Students have the opportunity to specialize in one area of concentration designed in conjunction of the MS/MBA academic adviser. Areas include new product development/marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, MIS/information technology, and production and operations management. This program begins every fall. There is no mid-year start for this program. Requirements GMAT (preferred) or GRE. Essay responses required in lieu of Statement of Background and Goals. Resume. Minimum two years work experience preferred. TOEFL score of 250 (computer-based) are required.
